The "shop" has been sitting there forlornly for a while now, but hasn't had any stock in it.

But if there's demand, we'll knock out some more. The things that are good are:
    - Tote bags
    - Mugs
    - T-shirts

All with an i heart n4 logo on.

So reply in this thread if you want something and if there's sufficient demand, we'll batch something up.

(If anyone has photos of their kit, please post them to show them off)

I kept meaning to buy a tote bag! Can I have one please? Also, can you get the mugs in those big US style? Loads of ours are broken so could replace them with SG ones!

I just am not good with the simple connection between "going to the shop to get some stuff" and "taking a bag with me". I'm working on it.

We're at more or less 10 each for the bags and mugs. We'll start the engines.

Though people are starting to get a bit price sensitive.

    And Poxy wants a badge.

Also, I'm a bit of a hippy about organic cotton. So they'll probably be that. It might make it more expensive, but hey, fewer polar bears will die and ting.

I'd like a mug. Also worried that a bag would single me out as an sg.org-er. What happens when you see one other with bag on SGR? A knowing nod? Shake hands? Avoidance? Social minefield...

@emine: I put my spare tom seedlings in pots outside the front of my house with a sign saying 'free tom plants, need tlc'. They were all gone in 5 minutes. Someone took the sign also.

@Nick_M ah - the stroud green recycling system. I use it all the time. Yesterday I put two Ikea speaker stands out, they were gone by the time I was back from Tesco's. I might put some actual speakers out today - nice 1970's Leak speakers. Were a classic at the time if anyone wants them ...

I gave up on freecycle ages ago - middle class folk would email wanting it, not turn up when they said, then eventually deign to come and say "it's the wrong period/colour/ambiance" and so on.

What if we got Home or somewhere else to sell them too? Would that defuse the social N4 bag minefield?

    • CommentAuthorpoxy
    • CommentTimeJun 25th 2009

That would be the hitherto unconsidered obvious solution. Also, it gives a greater chance of selling higher quantities.

Now a question... Does any of the merchandise (I hate that word, dunno why) contain any mention of sg.org? If you had independent means of supply would you consider putting on such a mark and what are the consequences of that to this site?

I'll buy an N4 mug. Selling them in local shops sounds like a great idea, although I hope you sell them online as well. Mr. Home's pricing strategy isn't very customer friendly. In fact I'm surprised he's still in business.
