    I was in Borders just now and there is a big desk at the front with 'autumn must reads' on it.

    Stuff on that desk will always sell.

    Stuff that I think doesn't necessarily deserve to have such a headstart in the book market. Stuff that probably shouldn't even have been printed in the first place. Books that are frankly, a waste of perfectly good trees.

    So I picked up all the copies of Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns (or some such bollocks) and moved a few books around so there was no gap. Then I went and hid them in the back of the shop, under a set of drama criticism that no-one will ever move.

    P.S. We are weirdly in sync today - having never been online at the same time as you, twice in one day is a bit freaky.
