I wish to nominate the people who live next door and decided to refit there kitchen at 8.30 in the morning with a jack hammer. We can put the stocks at camp Tesco. Just put people in them for a hour or two, that should work. Any other people or things that need to go in?

Most of the staff in Tesco should be systematically brought out and forced to spend a couple of hours in the stocks.

Oh, are we doing stocks in a village fair fashion? I thought we meant doing it proper old-style, where it was rocks and dead cats being thrown, not damp sponges and pints. It wasn't about light-hearted shaming, it was tantamount to a death sentence if the public disliked you. Well, and if you couldn't afford or cajole plenty of tough minders to keep an eye out for you - some things never change.

I take back my comment yesterday about 'most of the staff' in Tesco's and will now narrow it down to one individual...that small black lady who often mans the self-service checkout. I was fuming with her last night when her only interaction with me was to tutt at me when I asked for my basket back that still contained 2 cans of cat food.

She's first in my queue for the SG Ducking Stool :S
