We had dinner there on Friday night. I have to say for me it's clearly the number one pizza place on SGR.

The reason? The service. So friendly and welcoming. You really do get treated well when you eat there.

I agree they've always had good friendly service there. I just hate that bloody big screen as you go in. Makes me feel like i'm walking into Tinseltown

I love that I get a kiss from the waiter/manager. I always feel cheated if I don't get my kisses!

I'm sure they'd kiss you Tinseltown too, but something's telling me you'd not enjoy those so much.

You don't want what they are offering. In any sense of the word.

My favourite restaurant in the area.

Some friends of mine and I have been going every couple of months since it opened.

Quattro formaggi pizza not as good as Porchetta's. They use some sort of nasty cheddar on it. I'm a bit of a puritan when it comes to pizza.

I once saw a rat/mouse in Porchetta, and I've never had to hurry them along in Pappagone

I order mine from Firezza on St. Paul's Road, beats them both quite comfortably. Not very local of me I know, but if I eat out somehow I'm never in the mood for pizza which seems to go so well with the couch and sloth-like behaviour.

This is my favourite place in Finny P actually. I am slightly biased as I lived above the place a few years ago.

Anyone know what the ruckus outside Wetherspoons/Miso was about last night? I felt really bad for the people in Miso, they looked really downcast when we went past later (after filling our tums at Pappagone heh heh).

Completely missed it. Can't be like the Spurs/Arsenal clash outside the White Lion that made it onto You Tube, as Arsenal's season finished weeks ago:

Was it just something out on the street? I'd hazzard a guess at drunk fighty nonsense spilling out of the White Lion.

Oooh, when was that arsenal-spurs fight then - last season? I don't remember anything like that happening.
Didn't hear or notice anything re last night I'm afraid. The people in Miso may simply have been downcast because the food there is so rubbish though...

I've had a few deliveries from Firezza, when I lived on Fairbridge Road. The pizzas always turned up stone cold. But they were very nice after we'd warmed them up!

I love Pappa's for the atmosphere and friendly service.

Just had my first ice cream of 2007 from there. Without a doubt the best in London I reckon (and I lived in Italy for years, so I know my ice cream...), unless someone can point me in the direction of an even better one. The limetta is brilliant.

Never had a cold one from Firezza. A late one, yes, but never cold...

The only other proper Italian ice cream place I know of, and the only one i've actually tasted, is just round the corner from Queensway tube. Bit of a treck.

Colette, I'm glad to know it tastes as good as it looks. I've been excited about that for a while and now it's sunny enough to indulge!

Glad to see my YouTube cine-brilliance turn up here. Yup, it was the Arse-Spurs match last season. Never seen so many police in me life.

As for the pizza debate: Pappagone for experience but we're liking Lupa in CE for quality pizza right now.

Lupa is pretty good. Lot's of fresh veggies.

If Pappagone and Porchetta are the Tesco and Sainsbury's of SGR pizza, Lupa is the Waitrose - more fresh food, but a bit more expensive and slightly out of the way.

If Pappagone is the Tesco of SGR pizza, then why has the owner of Tesco never given me a kiss and called me 'bella'?

OMG. Just had a LOVELY two scoop combo of tiramisu and dolce latte. Delicious. And the lady serving makes the gelato too - what more could you want?

I also lovel the fact that she's doing dairy and gluten free options (isn't that more CR than SGR though?).

mmmm.... haven't tried tiramisu yet. Might have to nip over to get one for pudding later on. Yup, she makes it herself, and she'll even take requests.
