Inspired by the thread about about charity shop thefts, I would like to ask SG.orgers to donate spare fabric/old clothes to SGWI - we will always have fabric-hungry projects on the go (bunting and a banner, currently, plus SG School rather fancies some bunting as well), and we are keen to be green by using recycled fabric as much as possible.
Of course anything of good quality and in and in good nick should go to charity shops for resale, but we will happily take (washed, please!) e.g. bedsheets where the elastic has gone at the corners; shirts, trousers & skirts with stains/holes; odd scraps of fabric or trimmings (ribbon, lace etc.); dodgy ties; random buttons - basically, anything a charity shop can't sell which we could turn into something pretty! If you're not sure about any item, feel free to ask.
If you know any members of SGWI, you could give your items to them, or whisper me for my address. Thank you!
I should have added that we are also collecting jars with lids for jam making etc. later in the year - any size is fine, the ones which are too big for jam may well be used for mincemeat! We do plan to sell our wares in the local area...
