    We've got a job that needs doing that would suit a local plasterer/handyman who knows his way around lathe and plaster walls. Anyone got any recommendations?

    We need a classifieds here, but strangely even a free one seems hard to fill. Perhaps two strands of the I Heart N4 postcard are due, one for members, one for handymen and all dropped from a helicopter soaring up and down between the park and Scylla and Charybdis

    Now I think about it, the bloke who did my bathroom is a general allround handyman, and did quite a lot of plastering for me. Andy, let me know if you want his number...

    Have been dithering about this reply. First I thought that I could just ask Andy to email me with Simon's address. Then it occured to me that you can get my email address from my work website:

    http://www.opinionleader.co.uk/contact.php?contactID=16

    which is already on here somewhere anyway (when Andy took the piss out of my biog - now changed).

    Then I wondered if I'm just being altogether too para about putting personal details on t'Internet.

    Grrr.

    Now why didn't I think of that? Occam's Razor does not seem to apply to my thinking processes :)

    Does your handyman do Kitchen floors as well? I'm desperate for someone to finish my kitchen! Thanks

    Liz, ask him if he'd mind being our very first classified. Only viewable to members, not the whole interweb. I'll build it just for him, you know.

    Did anybody actually get in touch with David (the plumber/handyman, not our SG David)? Was it alright if so?

    What became of this plasterer? Is he still in business? If so I would be grateful if you could pass on his details as have some work that needs doing. Thanks

    I could do with a plasterer too - the ceiling came off my stairs yesterday

    Since this thread doesn't name any names, I don't know who the plasterer in question is. However, in at least one other thread there have been recommendations of a guy called Mariusz (making links takes me so long, stick his name in the search box and all the threads will come up), including his contact number. I can confirm he's still around, as he's busy in our kitchen right now. He has a guy who does plastering jobs.

    @Emine,

    We have had three guys in to price up the work but have yet to get their quotes. Will let you know what we find.

    p.s. Tomatoes all doing well so far...

    @emine - I'll let you know next week. His name is Joe and he sounds good, but he's not coming until Monday.

    I can recommend the guy who has just been to do the work on my house. His name is Joe. Very charming, professional and as far as I can tell, not especially pricy. Anyone needing his mobile number, whisper me a message.
