This Sunday apparently. Company that runs it Antic had just said it is closing it. <div><br></div><div>No more news beyond that on what will happen.</div><div><br></div><div>That is a real shame. It has been a great improvement on the larrik</div>

R&J, very true, Beth was great and it's not as good now as it was then but it's still my favourite around.

They haven't gone bust - they are opening 2 or 3 new pubs per month.

Antic went into administration but was bought out by a new company. They're trading as Antic London. <br><br>I can't see a place with the size and position of Stapleton staying empty for long. Hopefully it'll be a new lease of life for the place.<br>

If they did try to turn it into flats a concerted no campaign might swing it. Remember the Noble is under threat for flats too.<br>

Antic pubs were bought by a company set up by an ex-Antic director. So looked like a bit of a tactical administration.. Have a look at the back of the Camra London Drinker Summer Edition (no, really!) and all Antic's are shown as purchased by the new company after administration. <div><br></div><div>Agree that it lost a lot of it's feel after the original managers left. Spent many a night there just after it re-opened as Stapleton when it was completely deserted. </div>

I've lived in the area for 4 years and only ventured in last year and it became my favourite pub very quickly.  I hope you're right @misscara
