It's surreal. If it wasn't bad enough working in Covent Garden and regularly queuing up in Pret and Eat with ex-Eastenders working in the latest bad musical to hit the centre of town (Lord of the Rings, anybody? cripes.), I go to Londis to get my usual paper, croissants this morning and 'Soap Veteran (sic)' Barbara Young is standing there with similar paper and croissants.

    Young

It reminded me of getting on the W7 up Stroud Green and Scarlett Johnson aka Vicki Fowler sitting in the chair infront of me. We also saw her in Jacks buying some booze with what we guessed were her parents. She seemed very nice and polite.

    vicki

It's all a bit confusing, you watch telly, go out and the telly is out on the street looking back at you. Its almost enough to start a Stroud Green Soap Star category on these forums.

what is family affairs? I'm not kidding.

I really have to start watching British TV if I ever want to have any kind of acting career post drama school!

If you wander into Crouch End and go to the M&S supermarket on a Sunday morning you can see all sorts of TV and soap actors ... Tamsin Outhwaite is probably the most famous person I've seen there

Yes Simon. Muswell Hill M&S on a Sunday is also good for 'celeb' spotting. I've been in the queue with Michelle Collins and Tod Carty there which got me *marginally* excited...

Yep. Crouch End and Muswell Hill have got their fair share of Eastenders A-listers. Vicki Fowler's got some work to do.

I've seen the bloke out of Travis a few times in Crouch End.

I wouldn't recognise someone out of eastenders if they were chewing a wasp in front of me.

How about James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff in Tesco's on SGR?

It was ages ago though - back when I still used to go to Tesco.

Also Mariella Frostrup in CE pushing a buggy.

I saw Anne-Marie duff walking up SGR road last summer. I gave her a big smile thinking she was a friend. she smiled back. then I realised who she was.

Also Vikram/Kas from corrie/shamless was drinking in the Larrick watching football in October.

Then last Sat, I walked past Joe McGann opposite the diary.

I saw Joe McGann outside Woolies in CE the other day chatting on the phone about Neil Morrissey - he must be new to the area, I've never seen him before.
Of course everytime I go to CE I see the chap that used to be in the Bill but is now in those ubiquitous tissue/comic relief ads.
Dr Legg seems to be lying low these days - he used to be a fixture on the W3.

You're right: I remember how proud I was when the 'Scone Stone' was stolen from Westminster Abbey (I think!), this was about 1950. As the 'papers mentioned that it had been taken up Stroud Green Road on its journey back to Scotland - how about that then!

I've seen John Simm on Ferme Park Road, one of the McGann's in Londis, some busty model from Beauty and the Geek on the W3 and in Woody's.

And Marianne from Make Me a Supermodel looking longingly at the menu in Los Guaduales.

Oh, and also - you know the start of Peepshow where they look in the electrical shop's window and they're on all the TVs? We were at the Italian Deli which is now where that shop used to be and who was also sitting there but Superhands from Peepshow! Does he hang out there, hoping to be recognised? It worked!

Definately in Woody's, we saw some the other night. Quite amusing, but unfortunately funnier than the actual sketch in question. I find them a bit hit and miss. Excellent when it works, complete student dribble when it doesn't.

He lives off Blackstock Road down one of the roads that leads down to Highbury. I only know this because I once shared a cab back to norf London with him from Milton Keynes (true but long and dull story).
