Stroud Green WI July meeting: Local History Walk with John Hinshelwood, 15/7

Our July meeting is on Mon 15/7, and we are looking forward to a local history walk around part of Stroud Green with local historian and author John Hinshelwood. We will meet at The Hideaway (Ennis Road, N4 3HD) at 7.15pm, to begin the walk around 7.30pm. We may well end up in the pub for a livener... All women welcome - and do wear comfy shoes!<div><br></div><div>(In the event of rain, the walk will become a talk.)</div>

No! We had the annual open meeting a couple of months ago -the Forensic Science talk. You should have come to that, anyone including men, was most welcome. You'll have to wait 'til next year to visit us now. We'll save you a seat for the next one.

Fraid not Krappy, but John does do other walking tours - I'm sure the library have advertised them.

@krappyrubsnif, the SG CAAC are/were hoping he'd do a walk with them, maybe worth getting in touch? And I can ask him if he has any other walks planned, or if he'd be willing to do a walk for SG.orgers?

It was brilliant! John even got us into the old Rainbow theatre (now UCKG church) which is incredible inside. He said that if you email him via Hornsey Historical Society, he'll sort out a walk if there is an interested party of people. I'd recommend him - fascinating stuff! @Arkady and @krappyrubsnif you would have loved it

As Miss A said, a wealth of info. He's written a book which incorporates 5 walks around the area, available from HHS. Think we'll have to do another next year!
