Just popped in for the opening night free buffet. Porchetta, mozzarella, Parma ham and free booze. Will resonate with many but not all, it's a nice little shop, and a great addition to the strip. First time I've had porchetta, it was incredible! Best of luck.

We popped in too. Seemed very popular (I suppose free food and drink helps!) and they had clearly put effort in. From what I gather it's a family business. So good luck to them.

We popped in as well, lovely staff, really good food (the prosciutto and the cured meat were amazing), appealing produce on the shelves, but no prices! I popped in tonight.  The produce might be good quality but it struck me as very, very expensive by any standards.  You can get perfectly good little jars of antipasto and preserves for half the price anywhere else, including the supermarket and other delis.<br><br>Even if I wanted it, they won't sell Stroud Green Olive Oil.  They have an exclusive contract with an Italian supplier.   This could be a good thing or a bad thing, but I suspect a bad thing - see comments about the world Olive Oil business elsewhere.<br><br>I'm awaiting feedback as to whether the bosseswill  allow them to advertise the <a href="http://stroudgreenoliveoil.blogspot.co.uk/p/blog-page_4.html">Extra Virgin Stroud Green Olive Oil Tasting and Dinner at Max's restaurant</a>, or put up a poster in the window (places booking fast, by the way - 18 places gone now).<br><br>I think they may get customers among from better-off among the Italian ex-pat community, but not the average Stroud Greener stocking up for an Italian themed dinner party.  God  luck to them, all the same.<br><br><br>

<p>Both the store and the produce look great but perhaps need to work on their service. I've only been in twice but each time they seemed to have members of staff just hanging around and making no attempt to help anyone. Struck me as a little odd for a brand new, neighbourhood shop.</p>

Tony's butchers is excellent<br><br>Might not have the posh feel of a Highbury or Crouch End boutique butchers but good quality meat - and a lot cheaper than the supermarket.<br><br>I also suspect if more of those in the area who want something fancier used the butchers regularly and asked for it, then it would come.<br><br>I'm glad an Italian deli has opened, it could have been another pound shop.<br>

It's relaly nice inside, looks great from the outside.  I like the fact it does coffee, which I will have to try as it will be my nearest coffee house.<br><br>Everything seemed very expensive and I couldn't see any mozzerrella.  Sells quite a variety of things.<br><br>The only think I can think that I'd buy from there at present is some posh ham if I ever fancied treating myself.<br>

Krappy, that should sound great. Except that my housemate recently pointed out that Tony’s somewhat rustic-looking black pudding closely resembles a horse penis, rendering your invitation a tad disturbing.

@Northnineteen – Everything I have tried. The sausages and bacon are both delicious (the smoked bacon especially). The stewing beef is, from memory, a similar cost/weight as Tesco’s regular discount deal, but the quality is much, much higher. I make a mean beef & chorizo stew (with tatas, carrots, leeks, and butter beans since you asked).<br>

Tony reckons he can do any fancy meat (eg turducken = turkey stuffed with duck s/w chicken) for Xmas for half the price of the butchers in Crouch.....same meat supplier. Or so he says. I believe him. If you want meat scored, rolled and tied, it's worth waiting for. Proper butcher.
