These are likely to all be at weekends and result in a large part of the park being fenced off for the purpose. And this is in addition to the four fairground and circus events, each lasting up to two weeks. </p></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(79, 88, 85); font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; ">No account is taken of the impact of large events on the community: loss of park space, traffic chaos in the area, litter, anti-social behaviour and crime. Not to mention the damage that can be done to the park if 50,000 people trample over wet grass for several hours. It can take months to recover.</span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(79, 88, 85); font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; "><br></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(79, 88, 85); font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; ">But beware the consultation document is sugar-coated. The consultation questionnaire asks for views on an increase from five to six large events. On the surface this seems reasonable - but it isn't. The Stone Roses gigs in June counted as two event days. In future this would be just one of the six events so 12 or even 18 large event days could be held in the park.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(79, 88, 85); font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; "><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; line-height: inherit; font-size: 1em; position: static !important; min-height: 1em; "></p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; line-height: inherit; font-size: 1em; position: static !important; min-height: 1em; ">If the prospect worries you fill in the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.haringey.gov.uk/index/haringey-snap-survey.htm?k=138071533998" target="_blank" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(37, 141, 173); font-size: 1em; position: static !important; ">questionnaire</a> now and be sure to strongly support the continuation of five event days only (Question 1).</p></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(79, 88, 85); font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; "><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(79, 88, 85); font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; "><br></span></div>The council wil be making a decision on the policy on 17 December.</span></div>
