I would say trim it back severely .nut Actually getting rid of it involves digging the deep tap roots out and this goes deeper than 3 storie house on an established big hedge. Can be huge expensive task . The trick is to prevent it piling and pulling cement out of walls etc. spreading margarine on masonry (Stalk a good choice) prevents it getting a grip but you will need several catering size buckets of it.
