Does anyone fancy starting a book club? I know this is a bit revolutionary as it would mean actually meeting but I'm quite old fashioned at heart and still like actually knowing what people look like.

I'm thinking once every two months, meet on a Tuesday (or other football free night) in the Dairy. Take it in turns to nominate a book. Talk about it for 10 mins then gossip about Stroud Green. Any takers?

I win! I guessed who'd have started this thread.

I'm up for it, as long as I don't have ridiculous school hours.

As you can probably tell, I've broken up for 4 weeks. Cue almost permanent stroud green presence.

You probably wouldn't want me in your group. I only read instruction manuals.

I'm not very good at clubs, but I can totally recommend Shantaram, which I've just finished. It's a really good holiday read.

If you read/liked any of the big James Clavell (Shogun, Taipan, Noble House) blockbuster types, then you'll like this.
