• Dan's a good guy, and this is a great cause.
 • The user and all related content has been deleted.
 • Don't think so. Not enough people willing/able to do the work. They're going for smaller and more tangible things like the tree planting.
 • The user and all related content has been deleted.
 • What a great idea, have just donated.
• I didn't realise this had been posted already. Many thanks to Boxrunner and any others who have sponsored...if you haven't yet, that Zequs.com account finishes in 10 days (you can only have one for 50 days) but there will be other ways to donate. I'll keep you informed.
• I had trouble using the zequs.com website. After a couple of attempts I gave-up and just did a direct electronic transfer from my bank.
• Thanks for letting me know, Boxrunner.

I think on Internet Explorer the website struggles, but seems to work on Firefox and Chrome.

If anyone else is struggling, let me know and I can help you pledge in other ways!

• I was using FF, but as a I say I had no problem making the bank transfer.
• Update: over £1900 pledged, including a notably generous donation from Davies and Davies...this will be doubled by Islington Council (match funding up to £2k)...a real chance to make Wray Crescent playground a better place. Please help if you can.

So the nature of crowd funding websites is they only last for 50 days...alas the old campaign has run its course, but here's its replacement:

http://www.zequs.com/campaign/running-for-wray-crescent-pt-2#.U0Kel8eSCaM

Still time to sponsor me if you haven't already...

Sunday is the big day...anyone coming along to watch, I'll be running around a 4 hour pace, wearing a yellow Oxford United shirt (this will make me quite unique). Please shout your support...it really helps

Dan

• @Sanganddan That's fantastic news, good luck on the run!
• just wondering what happened about this? How was the run? Did islington council match the funding? has permission been granted for playground improvements?

Be good to have an update. Thanks.

 • Dan's fund raising plus some cash from John Jones and the council Local Initiatives Fund means that have raised nearly £6k
Unfortunately its taken a while to get the plans off the ground. permission doesn't seem to be a problem, its more about getting a design sorted out, with input from local kids, and then a project manager and contractor to make it happen. Ideally we'd use volunteers for some of the easy work too.

So if anyone would like to help the stretched resources of the Friends of Wray Crescent with some organisational skills then please let us know!

thanks

Jonathan

 • Six months is quite a long time, which bits of the design are you actually struggling with? Might be useful to know what particular skill gaps need to be filled.
 • We need a project manager! We have a range of good ideas and various offers of help but no one to get it done. A normal problem in life! Im speaking slightly out of turn but it's possible we could pay someone to take this up - to be agreed formally with the Friends.
