Running the Marathon for Wray Crescent

edited March 2014 in Local discussion
Hi everyone

Forgive the sponsorship assault, but with just a few weeks to go before the London marathon, I'm reaching out to all the kind folk of N4 and around. I'm a N4 man of many decades, my kids are in St Marks and North Islington Nursery, I perservere with La Porchetta out of blind loyalty, and I'm a Vagabonds regular.

For this marathon, my fifth, I've decided to raise money for my local playground, Wray Crescent. It's a much used, but poorly stocked open space, and I'm hoping I can raise enough money to buy something to make the playground a more enjoyable place for all the local children to use.

Islington Council have promised to match-fund everything I raise, essentially doubling your pledges. So far, I've raised over £1400, but playground equipment is staggeringly expensive, so I need to keep pushing.

You can sponsor online here:

http://www.zequs.com/campaign/running-for-wray-crescent; (annoyingly you will need to use Chrome or Firefox if it doesn't work on your internet explorer)...all the money is going to the Friends of Wray Crescent group and will be used solely on play equipment.

Or if you don't want to do it online, make a pledge on here, or tweet me @yellowfeverdan and I will come and collect cash/cheques/gold bullion/whatever ...

Thanks so much

Dan
