Getting old video reel developed

Hi all.<div><br></div><div>I have a small old reel of film, maybe three inches or so in diameter.  My grandfather thinks it may have a wedding video on it.  Can anyone advise me where I might be able to get it put into a modern digital format so I can see what's on it?</div>

There is a place in central London that specialises in doing that but for the life of me I can't think where. Let me try and kick start my memory but I have a feeling it is somewhere off Tottenham Court Road.

I could swear I walked past a place doing just that in one of the streets off Oxford Street (Soho side, so around Poland, Wardour St etc), but like Detritus I can't remember exactly where. If I head that way over the next few days I'll have a look.

<P>Stanley Productions on Wardour St used to do it but they've recently ceased trading.</P> <P>We do telecine where I work but it's not really domestic. I do know of someone who does film transfers and I've had good reports about the results. I shall find out more details and let you know about rates etc.</P>

I have a St Martins art graduate who specialised in analogue film making assisting me at work at the mo. I shall ask her, she should know. As everyone else has said, there used to be lots of places in Soho. I'll pay attention on my walk through this evening, I might notice something useful.

Funny lookin' video. The place on Poland St. might be Dubbs. They are/were an analogue to digital transfer & restoration outfit. I used to work for them, coincidentally, just after I graduated from St Martins; but that was in another century, and a recent search shows they have either gone under, or changed names to Premier, now on Berwick St. See <a href="http://www.premiercomms.com/post/tape-dubbing-and-servicing.php">here</a>

The Widescreen Centre near Baker Street will do telecine, although you wouldn't know it by their telescope centred website!  <div><br></div><div>https://www.widescreen-centre.co.uk/Catalogue/TELECINE_Services.html</div><div><br></div><div>Be warned, it may not be cheap.</div>
