I don't normally feel like a 'target market', but 6 music http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/ is so close to the radio station in my head it troubles me.

This morning, they've played dubstar, primal scream, hole, plus some new stuff. I mean, I'm sure I was the only person in the country to own the dubstar album, a band who even at their best were a poor man's St Etienne. (mmm, St Etienne).

They even played 'rhythm is a dancer' in an ironic way.

On top of that, all the presenters seem to have an accent that is 'mostly London, but underpinned by a solid West Country base' (listen to Chris Martin talking to Ricky Gervias http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DlvxYmBHYo to understand what this is about).

It's like Radio2 for people in their thirties labouring under the mistaken belief that they're cool.

That time when we walked into a retro shop and they played music from when you were at university has really got to you, hasn't it?

Andy, I'm a big 6 Music fan too, they never fail to disappoint when I switch on the digital radio in the kitchen. Russell Brand on a Sunday morning used to be excellent until they banished him to less risque Radio 2.

And...you certainly aren't the only person to own a Dubstar album. I even have the Remix album of the original Dubstar album (the one with the pink furry slippers on the cover), I'm not even sure they made it past one album?

Dubstar: Four albums (if you include the best of), who'd of thunk it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubstar

Not a patch on St Etienne.

Weird - Dubstar tried to add me on myspace yesterday and I was surprised they even still exist. Do they? I thought the lady was in Client now. Christ, her voice was annoying.

    Er, no offence.

I'm not a big fan of either but to have songs by both in my collection.
