    I can't believe I'm posting in the sport section!

    Anyway, just thought I'd ask for people's thoughts on the new logo.

    I hadn't even realised it was the numbers 2012 until I read the comments from disgruntled peeps on the BBC 606 forum, which has apparently broken number of comment records on a BBC forum: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/F7469164?thread=4225519 (hey using markdown too!)

    I think it's bloody embarrassing.

    The square in the middle, that's not connected to any number really annoys me.

    I just read on another board - and now I've read it I can't look at it any other way - that the logo looks like Lisa Simpson on her knees doing something unspeakable to Bart.....

    BBC London news were doing a viewers' gallery of their attempts at a logo and they showed a great goatse one - sadly they've not posted it on bbc.co.uk

    I hadn't seen it was supposed to say 2012 either. I thought it was somebody running or something. Lisa Simspon I can see though :S

    I think the square bit is part of the bottom 2 and the 0 above is covering the top part. But then if you need to explain...

    Now a bunch of rent-a-mouth politicians have weighed in against it, I'm definitely in favour of it. If you judge something by the quality of its enemies, you've got to say that the logo is very very good.

    It's just a pity they used a 'Comic Sans' style font for "london" and I agree about the square bit. The concept is fine(ish) it's the delivery of it that's wrong.

    And a capital 'L' would have been nice, but otherwise I'm warming to it and it now adorns my mobile phone.
    I've gone for the blue version, being a boy; but others might prefer the other colour combos available.
    Athens 2004 was shite anyway.

    Tell you what, the viral nature of this logo has been worth the cost alone. This is now instantly recognisable by everyone in the whole country, spread about by true British Cynicism.

    It still hasn't grown on me, even as a badge for postmodern irony's sake.

    I agree with Giles. The thing i still don't like is the type.

    However, I am going to try and get that video on my phone, in order to induce seizures in my enemies.

    You wouldn't have got that if Paris had won.
