Four Eyes

Does anyone know what was happening on Upper Tollington Park on Saturday night? I came home to find my street crawling with police and ambulances. There was a nasty pool of blood in the middle of the road. To get into my house the police did a name check on me but wouldn't tell me anything about what had happened. Anyone heard anything?

That's what I thought. The police were looking under cars, presumably for a weapon, but far be it from me to jump to conclusions...

What a bizarre accident. I have a scooter and am a better driver for it, so something like this really hits home how unsafe the roads are. Usually, it's the rider who gets hurt though!

I think it was a delivery person, not 100% sure though

We're firmly in the realms of uninsured drivers, then. Same with a lot of car drivers in London, quite frighteningly.

There's a police incident sign appealing for witnesses on UTP saying she sustained serious head injuries but on the other side of the road there are flowers and a card saying 'taken too soon' so the poor girl has obviously died of her injuries. I was really sad and angry when I saw this yesterday.

That is really awful news... I was in Oxford recently and saw a white bicycle chained to a lamp post. i didn't think anything of it, until somebody commented on my Flickr photo of it. It's apparently a "ghost bike" that people have started putting up in places people have been fatally injured in RTAs. I assume that the kids shoe may also be a sign...

It's better than the loads of withered garage flowers though. I think it look as if Marcel Marceau should come along and ride it away.
