    As some of the people on this site will already know, one of my more outlandish beliefs (but one I genuinely believe), is that advances in biotech, genetics and technology are so fast that it is a real possibility that people now in their 20s/30s could conceivably be among the first to be able to live forever. Either by stopping the aging process, downloading your consciousness into a new body or something similar from new types of very hard science.

    Anyway, I found out today that this is something you can bet on.

    The market for immortality currently suggests that the chances for my prediction are currently 20-1

    This, coincidentally, were the same odds that I backed Arsenal to win when they were 1-0 down against Fulham yesterday. And that happened.

    Nice to know that that great bastion of scientific research, William Hill, is backing up your more outlandish theories.

    I finally managed to download my entire personality and about 1 Gigabyte of my consciousness (as far as I'm aware) onto my laptop. I was quite enjoying my new transcendence until the bloody cleaner came in and unplugged it for her Dyson.
