Cats Cafe des Artistes- what's happened?
Apologies if there is already a thread on this elsewhere but what has happened to this formerly fantastic Thai restaurant?
To my knowledge it's been around for 15-20 years, I had my first meal there in 1999 and up until quite recently it remained one of the best Thai restaurants around.
The last 2-3 years however have seen it go rapidly downhill. I did hear they had issues with Food Hygiene standards in this period (got 1 star apparently, now upgraded to 4 though) and the takeaway I picked up last night was simply awful. Very dubious tasting prawns in a sea of MSG. Long gone was the fresh, vibrant ingredients I remember from a few years back.
Very sad to say that after 17 years of faithful patronage I shall not be going back. Just wondered if anyone knew any reason for this huge slump in standards, has it changed hands in recent years?
