Food.com
  • Not the strangest food shop I've ever been in, but it's close. There's lots of new shops opening up with not a great deal in them on SGR these days, beats the trend of those horrid over stuffed shops like X-it.

It smells of a pet shop by the way, food.com, not X-it.

  • Where is this place?

  • they should call it food.co.uk. i don't know where it is either

  • I might have got the name wrong (I'm rubbish with names).

I'll check tonight and let you know.

  • it's called .com food and it's across the road from petak. and it looks like it does a strong line in dried fish.

it also has Stround rather than Stroud in it's big sign, which is bound to annoy some people.
  • I'm always amazed when signs are misspelled. I can't imagine not checking.

  • My favourite misspelling is one of the convenience stores at the top of Blackstock Road (near the 19 bus stop) which sells 'diary prodacts'.

  • Oh no - .com food has closed by the look of it.

They should be able to sell the sign to some ephemera collector.

  • Closed already? Laundering front? They wouldn't care how they spelt themselves.
  • I bought a bag on Onions there once, They were very nice and so was the man who ran the shop !
  • I'm reading a book about drug dealers and money launderers, where it says that you can't tell, they usually come over as really nice guys.

The author lives in Stroud Green, by the way.
  • I only this week noticed that the shop opposite the bus stop by the main park gate allegedly sells 'friut'.
