I've always thought Google Ads is a bit hit and miss in terms of relevance. On here for example, you get ads for SG and North London stuff but also "pub jobs in Bristol".

Relevance aside, my question for the esteemed owners of SG.org is whether us clicking on the ad links is much help or value. Would it help if every visit we clicked on a couple of links. And if so, is this likely to buy you a pint after a year or bankroll a holiday home in Tuscany?

Click away, we'll never say no. But it probably at best contributes slightly to the hosting, not much more so don't lose sleep over it. Kudos for thinking of us though :)

So one came up for an estate agent which happened to be advertising this shop and flats for sale on SGR. I've always found this newsagent a bit smelly and useless, if that doesn't sound too mean.

Maybe we could all pitch in, buy it, and turn it into.... what?

A bookshop (but only if we didn't mind not making any money).

Now I've looked at the link, it's raised a lot of questions. For starters, the asking price is £50k short of ONE MILLION POUNDS. Is that a lot? It seems it to me but then what do I know? But more intruiging is the fact that it has a "built in shed with full power system". What does that mean? Am almost considering booking a visit to check it out...

Once upon a time, a million pounds was a lot of money. Now it buys you a run down newsagent and the opportunity to become a slum landlord.

So in order, I'd say i) laser quest ii) table football cafe and showroom iii) indoor farm iv) Global Centre of Excellence for Scalextric Research v) wine shop

    "butchers" ?

There's a butcher not a two minute walk away at the bottom of Crouch Hill. "Meat Masters" I think it's called. Does anybody use it? It seems to be busy whenever I walk past.

I think the newsagents should become Petek2 or Jai Krishna2. I've not been able to get a table in either the last time I tried.

And there are all those butchers down the other end of SGR. Or is that the wrong kind of butcher?

I'd like a 'boutique' cinema. Or a really good cafe that does really good coffee.
