when we lived in a normal flat, they used to tear the bin bags open to get to the avos - could this be what tosscat means?

@ katiejane - the flapjacks were stolen from my kitchen, rather than a bin bag. The squirrel came in through my cat flap...

How exciting, you know they pretend to hide food to fool other animals.

They must be quite clever, for a small mammal.

Top tip: As cute as they may look, don't feed the squirrels in Finsbury Park peanuts out of your hand...

You could get a nasty bite on your finger, spend your Sunday afternoon at A&E at the Whittington, then have to take industrial strength antibiotics for the next 10 days in order to prevent rabies/plague etc.

Coming late to this post - but I have a squirrel feeder in my back garden - dual purpose of stopping squirrel eating the bird food and providing entertainment for Plum - he's got a much better chance of getting that squirrel now its feeder's on the table!

Have to say I'm impressed by its escape jumps from the table to tree to window to roof. Sure does confuse the dog.

God, I have hours of fun really.
