Summer fruit at SG market this sunday

Sunday 21st July

10-2:30, Stroud Green School, Perth Rd / Ennis Rd N43HB

Finsbury park / crouch hill stations

tollington park/ finsbury park bus stops

5 mins walk from Finsbury park and parkland walk (Oxford rd exit)

Ladies and gentlemen look at all this fruit at the farm stall last Sunday! (have to see the picture at www.stroudgreenmarket.com/thisweek) Some of it even picked in the morning at 4 o’clock by Martin’s daughter Jess, and straight in the van up to London. It’ll be the same this week. Perry Court Farm is the toast of the town at this time of year: as well as raspberries, apricots and gooseberries we should soon be seeing currants in many colours, blackberries and goodness knows what else. Being less of a farmer than a farming magician, Martin even has an annual kiwi crop. There are too few of them to sell, though, and in any case they’re far too delicious to share with the likes of us. Suppose we’ll just have to make do with cherries…

There’s a lot of hot food going on this week, including a Southeast Asian celebration with Vietnamese (Dinh-dins), Thai (Pachara) and Cambodian (Chok-shop) cuisine all on offer.

Diego & Vivienne of the London Bike Studio are back again with wheels, bells and a super funky market playlist.

Finally a note about kimchi: Pao and her friend Minu are now away until September, but Pao’s pickles will still be available at Lucy’s good life stall until they run out.

See you all there, it’s going to be great!
