    Hello, I'm new. And my question is as above. Do you tell people you live in Stroud Green or in Finsbury Park? Have people in other places heard of Stroud Green? I like to say that's where I live, not for snobbish reasons of course, but then no one seems to know what I'm talking about, so I settle for Finsbury Park. Or "halfway between Finsbury Park and Crouch End". That can help.

    I say Finsbury Park. I got too tired explaining where SG was/is.

    If I think they'll know Stroud Green, I say that, then fall back to Crouch End and then finally Finsbury Park.

    Finsbury Park for me 9 times out of 10, Stroud Green or 'off Stroud Green Road' to locals or people who I think would know. I'm no snob.

    Sarah Beenie was calling a house on Shaftesbury Road 'Crouch End' on Property Ladder the other night. I don't think so Ms Beenie. You ain't Crouch End if you're not N8.

    Crouch Hill is even less known than SG. And it makes it sound like you're desperately trying to associate with Crouch End. We used to live off Crouch Hill (Highcroft) and even then I used to say Finsbury Park.
