Well I really like them, but it troubles me how close they are to, well, folk music.

I am now officially in my thirties.

Not heard them. Not sure listening to folk is a thirties thing though, I've been indulging in Nick Drake et al since I was 17. I'm more inclined to think something like The Foo Fighters is a thirties type thing - loud enough to convince the kids you're not dead yet, but still somehow easy on the ear when you're at home with the slippers on.

Real thirties tell tale signs are probably listening to things like The Throwing Muses, The The, Pixies & Scritti Politti

    here it is.

Let's not say anything about the Pixies. Whilst Lucy has had a Tanya Donnelly thing as long as I've known her - though with Belly rather than Throwing Muses.

Actually now i've listed to The Shins, it is quite a thirties type sound. Did you ever hear that Evan Dando album, Baby I'm Bored? A few bits like that in it. This week I'm mostly listening to South San Gabriel. Somewhere between Neil Young and Galazy 500.

    Oh yes.

Have you ever thought of becoming a Dance DJ, Lucy? You'd have them all out their seats.
