Stroud Green Wiki
Does anyone know who's responsible for the recent expansion of the Stroud Green wikipedia page? It's gone from those dodgy lines about Rivieras and Paris boulevards to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroud_Green,_London">a veritable feast</a> of historical data.
My favourite part is the description of the annual meeting of the Stroud Green Aldermen and the mayor in 1765:
<i>"The whole was conducted with all [reasonable] Decorum; but what contributed in a great Measure to damp their Satisfaction was the lnebriety of his Worship's Sword-Bearer, who having imbibed large Drenches of Claret and Hock, was rendered unfit to scale the Gates and Stiles belonging to their Grounds...</i>
