i love last.fm - it's the most accurate 'radio station in my head' since Magic FM.

The snapshot of my musical taste, is I'm afraid to say, pretty accurate: http://www.last.fm/user/firetail/

It's now asking me to subscribe. Does anyone do this? Does anyone else want to reveal their top artists/tracks?

my list embarrasses me every week. i'm sure it doesn't count the cool stuff i try to listen to on purpose and instead says i've played paper doll by scott walker 15 times in an hour.
but i do like the recommendations it gives me.
p.s. we are low compatability. sorry.

Low compatability, but there's stuff on your list that I like but don't have (lupe fiasco + vampire weekend).

That said, I love that Jolene is your number 8 track.

I've never had to subscribe but my hall of shame is here...

@Four Eyes - my equivalent of your Panic! at the Disco shame is Fall Out Boy. Emo Rules!

@ Poxy - saying you really really like Stump by Talking Heads is a bit of an understatement isn't it? (though itunes is telling me it's called strike up the band)

My closest neighbours seem to be women in their 20s from Oregon.

OK, so I've invited people who've posted their profiles. Others should join in if they want too. Then we can embed Radio Free Stroudgreen on the site.

I left it playing on repeat by accident one day. It's an amazing piece of music. It was like white noise wallpaper. And, it's by Talk Talk, not Talking Heads. I might put it on repeat now for the next three hours. It might drown out the noise of a screaming baby.

Stump, wasn't that part of the out takes used to produce Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock? Mark Hollis was regularly in the Magpie and Stump in Stokey in the early 90's, I presume the name might come from that. Did you ever listen to his eponymous album, Poxy?

I have. My trainspotterness also extends to all things Portishead. I think the new album is fantastic. (I've had a rogue download for sometime. Oops!) I shall be buying a legit copy on my way home from work tonight.

I'm yet to like the new Portishead album. It's got that intricacy that makes me think if I keep listening something will open up for me, but its not happening. I'm still trying. Hmm.

I'm loving Radio Stroud Green at the moment too. I might be a bit thick but...is it drawing on stuff from all our group members tastes? At the moment it seems to be churning out so many of my favourite tracks, it seems too good to be coincidental.

I think it's a blend of i) member's playlists and ii) recommendations based on that.

So with 6 members, it's 16.7% your stuff and the rest is everyone elses.

I'm married to an industrial music snob, and I'm not allowed to listen to my music when he's in the house. Thus, I never bothered to set up a last.fm account of my own.

    This is his account.

I doubt that it'll be all that compatible with other SGers.

Oh, and he's a paid-up subscriber. Apparently there are advantages, like being able to see who is looking at your profile. He's listed some others, but, frankly, I stopped listening.

I have to say, it was a bit better when we had five members, because those five people seemed to have different tastes, but only by a bit - they were more similar than different.

Now it's gone random. I still persist with it though.
