    ...does anyone want a patio heater, complete with calor gas. Got it couple of years ago for a pressy, and only used it once. Not sure I truck with the idea of generating lots of wasted hot air to be honest, but didn't have the heart to tell my sister who got it for me. So if anyone fancies coming to get it and carrying it away - let me know below and we'll sort it out. Ta

    Ooh, SG freecycle! Excellent idea.

    I have a keyboard stand of some sort that's been sitting on the stairs for a couple years. Anyone want it?

    I've applied to freecycle for a stroudgreen section. we'll see what happens, can they XML the data anyone? At least we'll have something on their site, would be better if we could filter it into the site...

    Toyed with a local ebay search, but its a bit rubbish. Freecycle seems more in line, if its not up to it perhaps any other suggestions? Local swapsies/deals sounds like a solid genuine service for this site.

    Maybe, for simplicity, we could just have a sticky freecycle thread?

    Then people could whisper of they want it and the owner could then edit their original message with "FREECYCLED" at the bottom, so we'd know it has gone.

    Lo-fi, but might just work....

    I am fed up with freecycle. Everything I put on I get people saying they want it then messing me around. If you put things in the free section in Gumtree they come and pick it up and are fine, freecycle is full of people who could afford to be choosy so I would rather it go to people who need it.

    Last week I gave away a really nice television. Got messed around by people again. Never never again with Freecycle.

    So how about we have a "members only" category? That way only members get to see it and you will only give your free stuff to people on the site?

    Or is that too few people?

    I'm in agreement about ditching Freecycle. They've basically ignored me, not accepted or declined my application. So sod them. Let's just add a freecycle category, and I'll format it somehow automatically. But let's not call it freecycle.

    I have a pine double bed and mattress if anyone wants it. Condition is OK - mattress a little scratched by cats but nothing serious... I put it on Freecycle a couple of days ago but just got the normal timewasters so far. Going to try Gumtree as well now though. Seems a shame to add to landfill but I'll be taking it to the tip in a few days if no takers.

    @ hoofck - don't take it to the tip. The Islington recycling centre takes furniture and other bits and pieces which get distributed to charities/hostels etc. Their depot right near Holloway tube, and they pretty much recycle anything.

    We've got a moses basket/mattress/stand/bedding, a 'bumbo', a baby bath seat (from birth up until about 9 months), and more baby girl's clothes than you can shake a stick at if anyone's interested...no point in hanging on to them, according to him indoors.

    I would really welcome a Stroud Green Freecycle site, we too got totally peed off with Freecyclers messing us around over collections, and we've got a bit of a backlog of stuff ready to go to a good home....
