    Sky desperately trying to hype up todays results as exciting. Pah. This was exciting - a winner takes all game decided by a single goal in the dying minute of the season.

    They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

    Christ I hate that film. Its the sort of movie that makes you glad that British Cinema isn't more successful. Colin Bloody Firth. Now there's a man to kill violently.

    There's only ever been one great football film and it was on last weekend, and Sly Stallone was the goalkeeper.

    Heh. I'd forgotten about this. Never seen it though, will have to find a copy. At least I'm safe in the knowledge Colin wasn't even born when this was made and therefore incredulously not involved despite it being a British Film.

    Review isn't exactly glowing though. Wasn't Loach meant to be doing a Cantona film?

    *4. Shaolin Soccer - that I also have on DVD.

    *3. Escape to Victory

    *2. The weird Zidane one - that I have on DVD

    *1. and then this one is best of all.

    I used to love Mogwai. Rock Action is still held as a thing of pure beauty to me, but I then made the mistake of going to see them live. Played well, but my god what a pretentious bunch. Painfully so. Prince was more down to earth, I imagine even TFTMTM would be.
