    Does anyone know of someone local with gardening equipment that we could hire to basically tidy up our garden for an afternoon?

    We're renting our place and have been arguing with the management agency for a while over whose responsibility it is to sort the "garden" out. It's not mentioned in the lease and agency/landlord seem to be shysters who dont really care. Realising we just need to sort it ourselves. We have absolutely no storage so cant buy the equipment ourselves (mower, trimmer, etc). Have looked into renting but have no means of transporting.

    It's not so much a garden as an irregularly shaped bit of waste ground which has gone to seed. Wild grass is now approx. 3ft high. Just needs an afternoon with trimmer and mower to at least get it in a position where we could use it.

    Anyone know a good service that'll just come and tidy it up and not charge an arm and a leg?

    We recently had some guys come in and blitz our garden into shape. They were excellent - about £20 per hour and very efficient. The company is called Jonathan Gordon Ltd, 020 8728 3848, or 07814 701221 based on Green Lanes.

    They made our lawn look like a football pitch. I have almost never been so happy.

    There's a guy called Ian Loosemore who lives on Hanley Road. He came to do our garden a couple of weeks ago. He charged £15 per hour, took two and a half hours and made it look amazing. His number's 020 7281 2506.

    Im going to call Ian Loosemore tomorrow to see if he can come and clear out my garden and cut back some trees, so thanks for that!

    Thanks for recommending Ian, he can over today and blitzed my small garden for 8 hours and 20 bags of rubbish later it looks twice the size, stark and low maintenance which I just how I wanted it.

    Also I over paid him and didnt realise and he brought the money back - very nice.
