I paint and draw, take illustration commisions, make props and install sets in shop windows (references available from Disney, Liberty and more). I can make pretty much anything out of fabric and teach you how to use a sewing machine (I have three, including a very old German one). I also embroider. I paint murals for private homes and shops and do paint effects (clients include Sothebys). Also painting and decorating, not wallpaper hanging though. I make homewares and gifts and sell them at vintage and craft fairs. I collect vintage fabric and am good at identifying them, I'll buy anything interesting. Also, floristry commissions. I'm really good at working in shops too and and a total geek about retail, especially specialist retail. I know a lot about books and publishing. If any of this is of any interest to anyone, feel free to get in touch.
• Professionally I'm a lobbyist, so could give a bit of advice about how to effectively harass politicians.
• More practical information about hospitals in local area and who to see for what and what health care provisions there are. Probably unable to give specific technical information but can do generally if anyone wants to PM me.
• Something we might consider along those lines is a design for the SGR railway bridge, as they are doing on Green Lanes.

I really don't think there would be any point in a mural. It would be covered in graffiti in a week. A mosaic piece with easy clean tiles, like the pieces at the FP entrance to Gillespie Nature Reserve would stand a better chance of surviving intact.

Following on from the first post, there is a lot more to the collective skills of the WI than cake baking. We have an accountant, more than one Guardian journalist, a senior manager at Stonewall and the penguin keeper from London Zoo amongst other interesting members. If you are female come and join us. Oh, and there's an awful lot more to Vetski than cakes and Latin, but she is more than able to tell you herself.

• If anyone is thinking of setting up a oil rig or meth lab I'm the person to turn to for glass.
• My knickers, and manners, remain untwisted.
• Maybe we could have a mixed media graffiti mural, including glass and old knicker fabric. I like attempting to recycle found bits into pretty things :)
• Oh yes, I like that idea. Like the Watts Towers or those nice lamposts in NYC.

Yes love Watts Towers, I don't know the NYC lamposts sound interesting.

Watts tower is amazing, bloody strange place to put an art instalation. In my part of LA we had an artist community shop/art place I helped install a complete boat in to it once it went from the basement to the roof through a few floors. Something like that around here would be good but it needs to be a collective rather than an individual. It might not interest many but take a look. http://machineproject.com
• Machine project looks fantastic, been wishing for something like it in SG for yrs.

Thanks Annie, they are magical. Glad recent Mayors have appreciated them. Of course being so easy to do they are great projects for the whole community to participate in creating.
• Yes, I'm contemplating doing it here, I have loads of bits of stuff I could use. I suspect Islington would be more tolerant of them than Haringey.
• When I was younger we went around Leeds painting the bus shelters yellow or white from red I wish I could say it was because of a artistic streak in my friends and I but alas it was because Leeds played in yellow or white and Manchester United played in red.

Maybe if it was done on the Islington side, Haringey might be persuaded to look as good.
• Just a quick hey. First of all thank you for the mention. The cycling club has never really started, for it's difficult to get a date and people rather like riding alone or with people they feel confident with. Maybe we can find a date now it's warm and see where we can go.
I've also quite a bit of experience with gardening (edible plants) and reptiles.

• I can help out with funding applications in terms of checking them for eligibility against guidelines, being a fresh pair of eyes and general editing of submissions bids. I am a bit rusty on the actual research and advice on funding sources but can give it a go. I tend to specialise in the arts/culture/heritage side of things. Otherwise, willing to compare notes on early twin parenthood!

Was there not an exibition at JJ about doing something under the Railway bridges ?
• Yes, as Arkady mentions earlier on this thread. There is a lot of shutter art locally, Jaks and others have themed artwork as do several on Holloway and Seven Sisters Rds. I like it.
• I think we should Apply for lottery funding to do something with the area outside vagabond. No idea how it all works though. Would prob take years
• How about just doing a bit of planting, tidying, jazzing up ourselves?
• Hello, longshot perhaps, but are there any builders out there who would be interested in swopping their time and labour (knocking out a door frame) in return for my childcare. I trained as a children's nurse, I run overnight stays for disabled children, I have two daughters age 14&11 years who are probably my best advertisement (if i do say so myself) I have excellent references. I am happy to do two hours to your 1 hour. You can use hours anytime, evening babysitting, summer holiday childcare..after school pick up? I live in Moray Road, N4
