  I actually think this is a great idea. Sewing is a useful, practical skill. Sewing on buttons, hemming, repairing small rips, darning socks: all good things to know how to do - especially for anyone with children - and none of which require a sewing machine, just a needle and some thread. <div><br></div><div>I'd like to see more men taking up all kinds of crafts. And before anyone says they're just for women, those old photos showing fishermen in big cabled jumpers? The jumpers were usually made by the men themselves. The women would usually knit for the family or even commercially to bring in a bit more money. Fishermen would also weave their own nets. </div><div><br></div><div>On a more serious note, knitting and crochet can help with depression and increasing feelings of well being. For me personally, being able to crochet really helped when I had severe depression. It made me feel useful, when I was feeling particularly useless (and many other horrible things).   You said everything I wanted to but so much better so thanks. Having help Annie with things for the stall i find something that is repetitive doesn't give me time to think so I don't dwell on things.   100% clear dude tis fine. I have been known to stich myself up after injuries in rugby or at work, and seen my dad do it on numerous occasions.
