Anyone know what the shop on Wells Terrace between KISGAP and Liberty is going to be? - it's a fairly large space and they've knocked through a wall and joined 2 retail units together. My guess is a supermarket.

@stutent I have no idea what it is going to be! It is pretty large unit though - looks too big for an estate agent (unless Foxtons which like huge spaces), a coffee shop or a butcher. I'm intrigued to what it is going to be.

Whoever it is, they've moved fairly quick. It feels like it has quite a bit of money behind it - so I'd opt for a chain/established business rather than a startup enterprise of some kind

I suspect you may have to wait until after the Mayoral Election for 24 hour tube.Not sure what the views of the candidates are whether is goes ahead as I suspect it costs quite a lot of money and doesn't provide much of a return so maybe it might not happen seeing the government has cut the money to TfL by I think £750 million.

Well they've settled with the unions they just need to train more staff. Supposedly it's coming in the summer. As a twenty-something I can't wait - nothing holds back London nightlife more than the ridiculously early times some places close. When it comes there'll certainly be more late licenses (and the Bedford tavern might get enough punters to actually stay open till 3 - which is what their license is now). As a renter though not looking forward to it. Rents and property prices are set to rise 10% in Finsbury Park as its on two lines.

In the olden days (the 80s & 90s) there used to be no shortage of places in Soho and elsewhere that stayed open until 2 or 3am. It's not the lack of tube that closes places early it's complaints from new residents that didn't expect noise when they bought houses next to clubs or pubs, Fawn James' passionate desire to shut down the brilliant places that her granddad used to leave to enrich the lives of those that stumbled into them and redevelop them into luxury flats and restaurants, and the disappointingly squeaky clean non drinking younger generation who's idea of a great night out is not a Soho dive bar.
