The Weatherspoons just over the hill in Crouch End has excellent wifi! I think I have just found my new office space. Plus the staff here are really nice. Lacking in wine knowledge (would I like a red or white Sauvignon), but thoroughly nice.
From Angel, if going all the way to Finsbury Park, the 153 is an alternative. Not as frequent, but tends to go all the way to its destination at least.
It is infuriating, especially as the front of the bus clearly says Finsbury Park. I doubt it is breach of anything though, as I am sure they are doing it to regulate the service.
I have complained to TfL before about another matter and gotten nowh…
@kreuzkav - The menu is on their website. A fairly short menu, vegetarian choices are limited, but I find the dishes more interesting than what is often the case with vegetarian food in a non-vegetarian restaurant.
There is Orleans on Seven Sisters Rd, open well into the early hours and has a dance floor. I think the music is hip-hop/rap/r'n'b-ish, but I could be wrong as there was a lot of rum involved when I went there.
I think Chapter One used to be ok when it first opened. It had more of a cafe/bar feel to it. Then they changed the interior completely and it just became 'the bar that didn't really know what it was', in my mind.
It has been a bar since at least …
@Krappy - There are some nice korean bbq-dishes. Can't remember how they come, but I'm sure I ordered rice separately, so have a feeling they just come with the meat and some veggies.
The Lion of Mortimer was definitely a pub in the late 90's. Not sure about before then. It was called something else though, Moon under Water or something? Not sure if it was a Weatherspoons already then.
Hi SG'ers!
Did anyone go to this? If so, I would be interested in talking to you! Please whisper if you went and are willing to be interviewed.
Cheers.
My mum frequently goes out nettle picking, it makes surprisingly delicious soup, a bit like spinach, and not so nice tea. If anyone did that on the Parkland Walk, they would have soup for the whole winter.
I hope the guy has learnt his lesson from his last venture... Some pr perhaps? Getting involved with the local forum?
That spot seems to be cursed, wasn't there an actual bakery there some years back before Miso? And I think a bar as well at some …
Had the same issue as rainbow_carnage a while back. (No internet at home and internet down where I went.)
What I found was that the cafes/bars have different providers. I think the Sugar Lounge and Stapleton (?) are on BT, while WLM is on The Clou…
@krappy - I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. I have waited a ridiculously long time for mail that has in the end been delivered by the postman.
@rainbow_carnage - I can't believe they listened to you! When I complained once it seemed that it was m…
I wouldn't have thought smaller places like Sugar Lounge go through agencies, I would guess you contact them directly. I am sure there will be info on their websites in many cases.
Might be imaging this, but I think the Stapleton does an open mic …
