  • Brilliant news!
  • Comments made - I lived opposite the station for a couple of years (in berry lodge) and I really hope the building can be preserved.  Please keep us updated Arkady.
  • It has been open since at least last July.  I live around the corner.
  • I'm not a birdsong expert by any means, I have heard nightingales in Spain and Italy but wouldn't be able to recognise by song alone with any confidence. I found the record here - http://londonbirders.wikia.com/wiki/LatestNews, and it was actually o…

  • Lesser spotteds are much less common, but have definitely been recorded at Alexandra Park (though not yet at Stroud Green).  However, a nightingale was recorded singing on the island in the Finsbury Park boating lake on Tuesday morning!!

  • We've also had Philippa working at our place - she and her team have built us a new landing and roof terrace which involved re-building one corner of our house.  They did a great job, and we would happily recommend them (and have them back).
  • me too! good luck annie.
  • It's nice to see some effort to keep the streets clean.  We have a strange issue on my street - someone goes to the effort of picking up their dog's productions and puts them in a bag... but then leaves the bag in the street with the result that our…
  • Hi CitizenA I'm coming up to the end of my maternity leave - I go back to work in July.  But would be keen to meet up if you fancy seeing what your sweet newborn will turn into in a few months (my son is 7 months old now).  If you're joining NCT, th…
  • Chang - I think you are referring to feral/rock pigeons and not wood pigeons.  We have some of the latter down here (SG borders = Wilberforce Road) eating berries... but not many (perhaps thanks to Detritus's pie-making activities????)
  • Hi No recommendations I'm afraid... but I'm in much the same boat except my son is 6 months old!  I go back to work in July, and am looking for nursery or childminder (or nanny share) - any ideas/recommendations would be great!!
  • @barnesbq - which F&C shop on Blackstock do you deem worthy of your northern standards?  My other half is from the northeast (Sunderland) and we are always on the hunt for a good chipper!
  • If the branch will cover all of N4... Cafe Vintage (Mountgrove Road), Highbury Butcher, Cinnamon Village (Blackstock Road)... and the N4 Library? I can email around to NCT groups in Stroud Green and Haringey. Looking forward to the meeting!
  • Not meaning to hijack your thread - but thought any keen gardeners might be interested to know that the Wilberforce Road autumn plant sale is on this Sunday 9 October from 11.30-14.00. The sale will be outside number 30 Wilberforce Road (I think of…
  • The free samples are delicious!! Chocolate and tiramisu flavours are esp. good...
  • I would be interested - might not be able to make the meeting as I'm expecting a baby any day (was due on Sunday). It would be great to have an N4 group!

  • me too! please do open again!!
  • it wasn't really mysterious - i posted the same thread twice and couldn't figure out how to delete one of them, i had to leave a title and some text... the cyberman explanation is much more exciting than the reality...

  • We had a takeaway from Dinner Box on the first night after it opened. As it is my closest curry house by far, I was inclined to like it in any case (being able to go across the road in your slippers for a takeaway is something to be happy about) - b…
  • Hello - thought I'd de-lurk. Another kiwi living in Stroud Green (the Crouch Hill bit, so on the "borders" I guess). No dog, or cat, or even garden - if anyone has a bit of green space that they'd like someone to come around and play with, let m…
  • @ Jeremy Fisher - are you serious about the barn owls? And has anyone been bat-spotting on the Parkland walk?
