In N Out Burger is one of the things I miss about the US after 27+ years here. We usually eat inside when going there. Trader Joe's market is another.

Where I grew up in California (50s-60s), brunch was what you ate at the restaurant we went to on Sundays after going to church. The next meal would not occur until the evening. Sunday roast lunch was something I discovered after moving here....

From experience, quite a lot of Americans use the drive-thru and then park in the McDonalds lot to eat the food. When I lived there it didn't seem abnormal. Now it does!
