I was quite grateful yesterday when a cyclist just said loudly 'eyes up!' when I was crossing in front of him, fiddling with my iphone. I wasn't looking, he wasn't agressive and neither of us got hurt.
Oh no! Yet again I'm missing out on the fun, as I'll be away this weekend.
Sounds like a great idea. I hope it works for you and that I can join in soon!
And does anyone remember Durnsford open air pool (now the Sunshine Garden Centre) on Durnsford Road from Muswell Hill to Bounds Green?
I spent most summers in the mid 80s hanging out there with a rabble of other 15 year olds, smoking Rothmans and…
I walked passed them setting up on Saturday, but was heading off to Hove to see my sister for the weekend, so couldn't stick around to see how te day progressed.
Did anyone know in advance that this was happening? Seems odd that no one on SG.org…
Let us know how you get on.
I've had a few pedicures at Laura's and she used one of those rotating sanders like a dentists instrument to remove the cuticles, so I feel I'd like a regular, and more gentle, pushing around with creams and a cuticl…
I had no idea that having a pond in your garden was as common as it appears to be in Stroud Green. I've never know anyone in London to have a pond. Or outside of London for that matter. Oh, there was one in someone's front garden at the top end o…
Can't you hire a big, big van and DIY? We (3 of us) managed to move the contents of a 2 bed and attic around the corner in a day using a big van hired from a place on Holloway Road.
ECOne on Exmouth Market are usually happy to scrub up my bling. They haven't charged me yet, but that may be because each time I've either been buying something else or getting a repair.
If you want to DIY, soak it overnight in some neat vodka t…
Him indoors' great uncle used to win prizes for growing giant veg in the Netherlands years ago. Story goes that one year someone grew suspicious at the lightness of a massive spud; turns out great uncle Hans had been slowly pumping all the veg with…
The dogs are all different. A couple of tiddlers and one great bear of a thing. I've never seen either women with dogs in a pushchair, I reckon they wouldn't really be earning thier keep as dog walkers if they just pushed the pooches around.
An…
I saw three Buddhist monks, in their orange robes, with begging cups in hand on Corbyn Street.
I also see the dog walkers. Persumably the dogs' owners are too busy to be SG.orgers and tell us if they own the cat too?
Trouble is, I used to walk to work. In fact, I did before Action for Children when I worked at off Cally Road and do still now to Dalston. You won't catch me on public transport, if I can possibly avoid it!
I worked in that building for Action for Children for almost 8 years, until 2 years ago. I'm surprised you might not have noticed it before, it's pretty big!
There were, in fact, 4 buildings on that site, 2 big gardens and tennis courts (the c…
@ Jenowl - just yesterday I decided that I must complain to somebody about the poo under the FP railway bridge, and plead that they clear it up. It makes me want to retch walking along there, especially when it's been raining. Could you please pos…
Him indoors told me EIGHTEEN years ago that the collective name for a group of coots was 'a fart of coots'. I believed this, and have shared the information many times over the years. Finally, about 3 years ago, when he heard me telling my dad, he…
