I've been in - it had a revamp last year I think. Does good, cheap hot chocolate (don't drink coffee so can't judge) and they're a very friendly bunch. Haven't eaten there though, or not that I remember!
It's on Tollington between the estate agents on the corner and the internet cafe.
Before i came on this site, just knew places, that shop, the piza place down there. Now I have to look what each place is called just to have a clue what anyone's on about.
Yes, most friendly, not too expensive and nice hot chocolate. I had a very pleasant hour in there whilst waiting for the electricity people to fix my power cut.
I always thought it a bit rubbish - and the outside in smoking thing made it all smell of smoke. They didn't have enough to tempt me in and the coffee wasn't good enough.
I reckon someone could make a real go of that (is it a good time to pitch for a deli again?).
I really liked coffee haven - friendly and unpretentious. Ariela's is the other place I like for that.
@tosscat - that's what I thought too when I saw this thread. Can't be bothered looking but I think he did say he was moving out of the area. Or was that doctor lalloo?
There's 'Church of Starry Wisdom' on Foursquare, which for some reason I took to be unaesthetic's place. I think the owner looked as gothy as I imagined him.
