Hi folks
Just wanted to call your attention to a proposed troglodytes' cave at 38 Quernmore Road. See application HGY/2010/1433 on the council website. It is the site opposite Stroud Green Library. It is for a new basement flat to be built under the existing corner shop and under the existing paved area at ground level. The entrance to this flat would be down a horrid narrow slot and it would be difficult to be seen and could attract crime. The wheelchair access looks like it would be through the garden back entrance rather than the front door which is not in the spirit of proper Lifetime Homes developments. The other thing is that there is no planning notice posted. Am I being unduly cynical - this is the second time this has happened recently - and it is the summer holidays. Do the planners want a quiet life and no comments from residents?
