Continuing the general theme of lack of understanding of techie threads, I have been thinking that maybe the answer is to actually try to understand it all... ...which ties in with something I've been thinking about for a while: that I have no idea how loads of really basic things work. Including but not limited to: Elecricity Planes Boats Computers The internet Maybe we could set up some sort of knowledge exchange?

Yep. Expect some category refreshment in the next few days. Definitely a 'geeks corner' and possibly one called 'electricity boats and planes'. Any more suggestions? What don't you understand about planes? I am currently learning a lot (too much?) about cellular biology at the moment.

What was I thinking!? The thing I don't understand about planes is pretty basic: makes no sense to me how something that big and heavy can stay in the sky. Whilst those slides are lovely (and did indeed add something to my knowledge about planes), I still don't understand...
