is the Japan House in Japan Cres the original one. It is next to a garage firm which perhaps was the orginal garden I have read about. Does anyone know the history of it, or indded has anyone lived there with a story to tell about its history ? thanks chang

No. There's another thread on it somewhere here, including my hilarious encounter with the Japanese Embassy. Japan House had mysterous origins, but was demolished to make way for Japan Crescent.
John Hinshelwood's book is best on the subject. -
