Japan House - local history

<P>is the Japan House in Japan Cres the original one. It is next to a garage firm which perhaps was the orginal garden I have read about. Does anyone know the history of it, or indded has anyone lived there with a story to tell about its history ? thanks chang</P> <P> </P>

    No.  There's another thread on it somewhere here, including my hilarious encounter with the Japanese Embassy.  Japan House had mysterous origins, but was demolished to make way for Japan Crescent.<br><br>John Hinshelwood's book is best on the subject.<br>

    Arks, Why were the origins mysterious ? sounds like a thriller. Sorry I don't have time for books as I have long hours working in animal welfare . But thanks for the tip as I am interested in local history. Chang
