Not wanting to resurrect the old thread I thought I'd start a new one.<div><br><div>Having done my usual trick of leaving the Christmas car hire to the last minute everything seems really expensive. All of the usual national/international firms are charging extortionate amounts, partly it seems because I am looking at their central branches around Kings Cross which have an extra premium attached.</div><div><br></div></div><div>I was looking for something cheaper and more local and came across A1 Holloway, has anyone used them before? The only other localish one seems to be Practical on Park Road but they are closed when I want to return the car.</div><div><br></div><div>Are there any other good places to try? Thanks </div>

Ok, it's not a local firm, but I've always used National/Alamo and never had any complaints. It's got an Islington branch and the cheapest for seven days was £136 when I just checked: http://www.nationalcar.co.uk/<br>;

We've hired from A1 a couple of times when we've needed a transit van - reasonably priced, nice people, would use again.
