Moved here in 97. OK - I have moved south of the park in the interim for a bit but home is where the heart is and all that.

    A little over 6 years I think.

Since 1981 when the area was really was quite dodgy! There was only the Stapleton Hall Tavern , the Osborne, the Park Tavern in Tollington Pk, The Duke of Edinburgh in Perth Road and the Worlds End was a very republican Irish Bar which was most interesting late on Friday on the stagger back at 11pm from town as it stayed open late.

By 1983 you had Marlers Bar open which was the trendy pub of the area and absolutely packed to the door every night. It was pub no 6 win the Weatherspoons chain and is now the Nobel. The White Lion when it opened in 1986 was revolutionary and was the biggest pub in the chain and even made it into the style pages of the Observer Magazine at the time !

The shining light the was the Vegie Indian which used to be frequented by Annie Lennox who was living in Stapleton Hall Road with Dave S. Still owned by the same people as well.

    Poor Busby !

Thought his comments about the Stone of Destiny (he called it Stone of Scoon ( should be Scone)) interesting.

If it is true that it did go up SGR after the heist from Westminster Abbey maybe we should watch out for film crews and a film about this is currently being made by Charles Martin Smith starring Charlie Cox and Robert Carlyle.

Does Tollington Way count?? We were right on the corner of Hornsey Rd...

If it does, then we're just shy of 7 years and 6 months, but I suspect not, in which case it's 5 years and 3 months.

It's nice to be missed. In fact I hadn't realised that there was anyone really taking notes of my musings...

My sons bought me a new PC, so, thinking that I'd need to start again (so to speak) I threw out all my favourites and only today did I see that Stroud Green was missing.

    I'm no computer expert.
