The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.

Enjoy! Hope it's a good choice - it's definitely a complete contrast to The Untouchable.

Was it hard to get a discussion going with such a big group?

It sounds fun. My previous experience of a book club, includes choosing Moominland Midwinter because of it's haunting themes (and the fact it could be skim-read the night before). I always wanted to just get down the drinking and chatting about other stuff too.

It didn't seem hard to get discussions going and everyone had very interesting points to make which certainly helped me to view the book that we chose in a different light. Really enjoyed it once I'd got over my initial nervousness about meeting forum folk in real life - everyone was lovely. I'm looking forward to the next meeting.

When a thread is sticky it stays at the top of the list of discussions. In the context of not this site, it can mean the [defining physico-chemical property of glue](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sticky).

Book club folk, you're now faced with a very real problem. Should you now meet each other whilst in the company of a third person, you will be forced to introduce your fellow book-club person as "A FRIEND FROM THE INTERNET BUT WE'RE NOT DATING OR DOING ANYTHING ODD, IT REALLY IS JUST A BOOK CLUB". The way around this is to do a very hard stare to ensure the normally-acquired friend realises that this is now perfectly acceptable. The etiquette of this is I think worth a couple of paragraphs on the inside bit of G2 whichever one of you writes that.

The more the merrier! Glad you enjoyed the book.
Looks like we might get a big turnout next time - if it's too big for one big discussion we could divide in to a couple of groups so everyone gets chance to speak...and then come back together for the N4 chat after! See what everyone thinks on the night.
