A massive loss to the area IMO. One of the best pubs of that ilk and was on our doorstep, hopefully someone may take on the venue with something similar.
Great news regarding BSR re-opening. Regarding the SA, it's owned by Howling Hops who also own the Cock in Hackney. The SA is a brilliant pub but the Cock - whilst seemingly decent - has had some issues with its cask, especially in hot weather. So I'm guessing the management of the pubs is particularly key, I know the SA has had a well-loved manager who is about to leave.
Also, just seen that Nick - the manager of the SA - is leaving to do his own thing in the pub world. I assume this is what CrouchPotato is refering to rather than the owner as I assumed!
They have installed a terrific Vertical Garden and are painting over the indecipherable mural with something easier on the eye - projected reopening apparently still a couple of weeks.
@Agaton Sax do you ever cycle to the Blackhorse Beer Mile?
It's a nice ride and there's some cracking places on the BBM, I tend to get the Goblin down there if drinking but I have cycled down there via the Walthamstow Wetlands before now.
What's with the Sir and Lord stuff still pervading modern London. Get rid of titles. It's like something out of playschool. Sorry, medieval times. And it's not be played with. A relic of feualism. Yes I'm anti-monarchist. And I don't like the Pope or priests either. Down with that sort of thing.

I notice people are literally queueing up to get into Max's now, good to see.
I'd drink to that!
