top celeb spot
  • in the Noble. Simon Pegg...

    ...wearing a hat
  • Top marks.
  • Andy - is it worth creating another version of the Directory ... a map where we can tag celebs and where they were spotted!
  • Ah, a friend saw him in there a few weeks ago as well. Right, I'm going to stake out the place.
  • I could just add a Celeb category, but I don't want to do that without Overlord Andy's permission as he'll try and ban me again for usurping his authority.

  • Not being egotistical here - as I don't see it myself - but people often tell me how I look like Simon Pegg. Including a guy who went to school with him. I think it's just that I usually have stubble, glasses and wear a beanie.

I really should finish watching Spaced.
  • could people be spotting Matt around stroud green? hence accounting for the dispropportionate number of simon pegg spots.
  • @david - maybe we can unfuckup the old one before making a new one.

of course, this is very close to the 'gawker stalker' idea http://www.gawker.com/stalker/

  • and whilst I'm on it, let's steal this idea too

    http://www.gawker.com/news/shirts/view-slogans-227091.php

"I joined Scientology and all I got was this lousy, short, untalented, over-controlling movie star."

one for David "I have no doubt that your children are extraordinary, but I don't want to hear anything about them."

  • Lucy: sadly I am yet to set foot in The Noble!
  • @andy, what's to unfuck?

  • Walked past Joel Beckett (aka Jake Moon from Eastenders) this morning at Finsbury Park overland station. Not as interesting as Simon Pegg. Let's get a gawker style directory going for Stroud Green!
  • sorry david - i think the map overlay is being bluecoated in the office. it's fine everywhere else.

  • Should have points for taking a photo of them
  • what's with the @andy, @david stuff? Yet another web protocol thing I'm completely unaware of?
  • @lucy - just a way of making sure the person you're replying to in a long thread knows it's you they're referring to...
  • @lucy @four eyes - Also because vanilla doesn't have a "reply-to" feature built in, and the extension for it sucks.
  • @four eyes - thank you.

    But, why not just say:

    lucy - etc.?

    Is putting @ more cool?
  • @ makes it web 2.0
  • John Simm of Life on Mars was in Budgeons a few weeks back. I know it's not really SG but close enough.
  • I saw him in WH Smiths in Brent Cross at Christmas
  • just saw simon pegg smoking a fat cigar at the noble.
  • Cool - now he`s been spotted drinking there twice I think we can establish that The Noble is his new local ... let the stalking begin ;)
  • Hahaha!
  • Did everyone see the C4 programme on Sunday night with Nick Frost and Simon Pegg? Simon Pegg was wearing a CROUCH END tshirt. I got really overexcited and now my boyfriend thinks I fancy Simon Pegg.
  • I saw it and have now started watching spaced for possible SG sightings.
  • Spaced was more Tufnel Park IIR
  • Double Whammy!

Saw Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in The Noble last night. They managed to sit behind me for over 2 hours without me realising (friend had clocked them but was being "cool") and I only noticed when Simon Pegg came back from the toilet!

I would have spent longer talking about ACTING in a loud voice if I'd known.
  • I'm a bit concerned at the pedestal Mr Pegg seems to have been put on in this forum. It would probably scare him.

  • It scares me, and I only look like him (allegedly)
  • Neil Morrisey has also been seen hanging out in The Nobel. I also remember sitting next to him and Adrian Dunbar in the White Lion probably about 15 years ago or so. The White Lion was the trendy pub of the area then. Full of Guardian readers and it even featured in the Sunday Observer as being what a pub of the future would be ! had a picture of the big round table that used to be in there. It went down hill when the Irsh pub that is now Nandos closed and Weatherspoons changed it into a post Macdonald architecture !

For the Nobel you have to thank Weathspoons as they converted in from an Off Licence into Marlers Bar, it used to get absolutely packed, Being the Nobel on Friday night brought back days of nostalgia
  • Noticed a newspaper article re Simon Pegg and his family history on Saturday.

Turns out his real name is Simon John Beckingham and he was born in 1970, his Dad was representative selling musical instruments who had a passion for jazz
  • Saw Jo Moore of Labour Party, 9/11 email ("today might be a good day to bury bad news") fame walking down Stroud Green Road near John Jones last night.

Also apparently we have a Government Minster as well, namely Douglas Alexander, Transport and Scotland Secretary. He lives in Florence Road, maybe he will be against the Parkland Walk cycle super highway!
  • Or perhaps he's pro the Dog Poo Mud Bath Mugging Mayhem Super Parkland Walk hell hole - it's really not very constructive to distill these things down to silly names, is it Ali?

  • Since when did we need to be constructive?

I like it that you still added 'super' after Dog Poo Mugging Mayhem.

Dog Poo Mugging Mayhem sounds like a badly translated Japanese computer game from the 80's

  • We don't, it's purely an observation.

  • Was nearly run over by Rick 'Minty from Eastenders' Peterson driving his silver Porsche Carrera up Mount Pleasant Creasant yesterday
  • ok simon pegg in the noble........ i know this is nithing new but the dog he now owns is the cutest dog i have seen ......
i actually started to talk to him about the dog, only a few months old and threw up all over the floor........ wish i had my camera to take a few pics of simon pegg cleaning up dog spew in his local.........
  • What type of dog is it?

  • Terrible!

Sorry, I thought you asked how did it smell.

  • It can't, it hasn't got a nose.

  • Neil Morrissey and Nigel Harman from Eastenders were in a group having dinner at Florian's in Crouch End on Friday. Simon Pegg has also been seen getting a take-away from the excellent curry house (although I can't remember the name) opposite the Queens, also in Crouch End. And a bored looking Dermot Murnaghan being dragged around Woolies by his wife on a Saturday morning.
  • Johnny Borrell from Razorlight in The Big Fat Sofa (RIP) - complementing strangers on their hair.
  • After an afternoon spent cheerfully mopping up dog-sick in The Noble, Simon Pegg likes nothing more than the short jaunt to Finsbury Park and popping a cap in some goose's ass.

  • Just heard that Simon Pegg is to be the new Scottie in the new Startrek film !
  • Some friends came round to dinner last week, and saw Mr Pegg on Crouch Hill walking down towards The Noble.

  • Neil Morrissey in the Noble this evening. Behaving well.
  • Good spot. Though I hardly ever see Pegg in the Noble anymore.

Not to be an egomaniac about it, I worry that we scared him off.

  • Pegg been in a couple of times recently in the Noble - was in friday before last with his dog.
  • My boyfriend has seen Dr Legg TWICE at the Albert Road (not Albert Square) bus stop.

Howdy, Stranger!
